# FFmpeg Notice Absolute Utilities & Tools (AUT) bundles **FFmpeg** to provide media inspection, transcoding and audio extraction. FFmpeg is a separate program: AUT runs `ffmpeg.exe` / `ffprobe.exe` as child processes and is not linked against any FFmpeg library. ## Licence This copy of FFmpeg is an **LGPL-only build**, licensed under the **GNU Lesser General Public License, version 3** (it was configured with `--enable-version3` and **without** `--enable-gpl` or `--enable-nonfree`). The full licence text is in `FFmpeg-LGPL-3.0.txt` next to this file. The FFmpeg libraries are shipped as separate DLLs (`avcodec-63.dll`, `avformat-63.dll`, ...). You may replace them, or the whole FFmpeg folder, with your own compatible build; AUT locates `ffmpeg.exe` in its `resources\bin` folder at run time. ## Source code | Item | Value | | :--- | :--- | | FFmpeg version | `n9.0.2-28-g669f5ab083` (built 2026-10-17) | | FFmpeg source | https://github.com/FFmpeg/FFmpeg/tree/669f5ab083 | | Build recipe | https://github.com/BtbN/FFmpeg-Builds (tag `autobuild-2026-10-17-20-51`, variant `win64-lgpl-shared-9.0`) | | Binary archive | `ffmpeg-n9.0.2-28-g669f5ab083-win64-lgpl-shared-9.0.zip` | | Archive SHA-256 | `00ab3bc8fe02554bd0fffac9968bba498d1ab7e899a4871b85fbba828a50bfcc` | Absolute Autonomy (Pty) Ltd will also provide the corresponding source code on request for at least three years from the date of distribution. Distributing H.264 / H.265 encoders (OpenH264, Kvazaar) commercially may require patent licences from the relevant pools; review this before general release.
